TODAY
Many saw you
Who you never saw
When you passed...
Today!
You saw many
Who never saw you
When you passed...
Today!
Not many saw many
Who saw them
When they passed...
Today!
2060 DREAM
Our hearts beat
As our young blood
Nimbly...
We see
But within
We dream
Half away
Into the naive century
Of a country of caliber
A land of leaders
A state of responsible citizenry
A nation of enlightened minds
A metamorphosis of mindsets
And an innovative society
Of a time of time
A period of new paradigms
Where upon we'd loftily price
Reading and education
Entrepreneurship and innovation
Leadership and integrity
Selflessness and generosity
Where the young
Growth is allowed
And the old
Dies fulfilled
Of our national growth
Into the mien of first worlds'
Into an economy of globe's top ten
In the indices of transformed nations
And into the intellect of world powers
Of a Nigeria
Nimbly
We see
But without
We become
Halfwards
Into the proper jubilee

NIGHT
When the cockerels have crowed
When the wind becomes a child
When the atmosphere goes sad
And the cloud-gut sky now frowns
When the silvery white sheet sublimes
And the tiny dots appear
When the lazy fronds type
At the blindness of the sky
When young hearts gather and play
Under the watchful eyes of moonlight
Making merry telling tales
Out of the sunshine of emotion's warmth
When silence becomes louder than noise
And the crickets chant an endless anthem
When Allah's worshippers yawn their prayers
As loud as rapture's blast would
When life's fire is flickered out
And life's light is trimmed down
Even if our light was dark
We could blinklessly say its night.
